I decided to make Amy a surprise and mail it to her in New York. I took a regular red LED and modified it into the shape of a heart. I strapped on two AA batteries, two resistors, and a momentary contact push-button. It always glows dim, and will last about a month on two batteries. If she pushes the button, it becomes bright.
